Hussmann has announced a strategic partnership with Refra to supply advanced refrigeration systems exclusively to the Australian market.

This collaboration will focus on innovative transcritical CO2 racks, chillers and R290 heat pump technologies, marking a significant milestone in Hussmann’s commitment to expanding its natural refrigerant systems solutions portfolio and becoming Australia’s leading HVAC&R business.

As part of this partnership, Hussmann aims to enhance its offerings in sustainable refrigeration by incorporating cutting-edge technologies that promote energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. The integration of transcritical CO2 racks, chillers and R290 Heat Pumps into Hussmann’s product line is designed to provide comprehensive cold chain solutions that meet the evolving needs of the Australian market.

“We are excited to partner with Refra, a leader in refrigeration technology, to bring these advanced systems to Australia,” said Vinney Kumar, Deputy MD, GM Australia & Business Development Director, Hussmann Oceania. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to sustainability and innovation, allowing us to offer our customers effective and environmentally friendly refrigeration solutions.”

Refra’s expertise in natural refrigerant systems aligns perfectly with Hussmann’s vision of providing cutting-edge, sustainable refrigeration options. The partnership is expected to enhance the performance, reliability, and efficiency of refrigeration solutions available to businesses across Australia.

Refra offers the invaluable advantage of a decade-long expertise in the field. The company embarked on this transformative journey 10 years ago, redefining its production practices by incorporating natural refrigerants into its manufacturing process. This decision set the company apart as an industry pioneer, with 84 per cent of production produced by CO2 and propane.

“Our partnership with Hussmann represents a significant milestone—not only in Refra’s growth but also in driving the refrigeration market toward a more sustainable and environmentally responsible industry,” stated Aleksej Pavšukov, CEO of Refra. “Our mission to deliver innovative, green refrigeration solutions now extends into one of the industry’s leading corporations, reinforcing our commitment to a sustainable future.”

This partnership is anticipated to drive advancements in energy-efficient refrigeration practices while adhering to industry standards and environmental regulations. Hussmann and Refra are committed to supporting businesses in transitioning towards greener technologies, ensuring they remain competitive in a rapidly changing market.
