AGL’s Newcastle Gas Storage Facility (NGSF) has been awarded best NSW Regional Project by the Australian Institute of Project Management.
AGL’s Construction Project Manager, Tim Knill, accepted the award at a gala dinner in Sydney where he acknowledged the team effort required to deliver a successful project.
“A project this size is bigger than any individual. My appreciation goes out to everyone who contributed, in particular, WorleyParsons and IDM Partners who partnered with AGL to deliver this very successful project.”
The Project is now in the running for the national Project Management Achievement Awards to be held in October.
Located in Tomago, NSW, the NGSF’s 40 metre high tank has the capacity to hold 30,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG), providing storage capability for up to two weeks of gas demand and much needed energy security, particularly to manufacturers.
