Works on the Hanwood Stormwater Pump Station have commenced, with the levee construction on Kidman Way between Leonard Road and Mallee Street to follow. This will result in temporary traffic restrictions and road closures.

Traffic on Kidman Way will be restricted to a single lane during the road works. Initially, the eastern lane (southbound travel lane) will be closed for construction. Once work on the southbound lane is complete, it will be re-opened, and the western lane (northbound travel lane) will be closed.

Road closures will also be in place for Leonard Road and Mallee Street until the completion of these road works, with access to residents via the service lane on Wattle Street. Leonard Road residents can access their properties via Wilga Street and Ash Street.

Motorists are urged to drive carefully, adhere to all signage and traffic control measures, and allow additional travel time during this period. The road works are expected to take approximately 12 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
