The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has launched a new initiative to provide refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) technicians and businesses with easier access to essential industry standards.
Through ARC’s sponsorship, Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL) and Refrigerant Trading Authorisation (RTA) holders can now view a curated set of RAC Standards via the Standards Australia mobile app. Voucher codes, available through the ARC website, allow permit holders to redeem free mobile-only access to these documents.
The standards cover the full lifecycle of RAC systems, including specification, design, installation, servicing and end-of-life decommissioning. Referenced in Section 135 of the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995 (Cth), they form part of the compliance framework for licensed technicians.
Glenn Evans, CEO of the Australian Refrigeration Council, said the initiative supports both compliance and professional development.
“This initiative is about equipping the industry with the tools they need to uphold safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance. Making these Standards easily accessible is a step forward in strengthening industry capability and professionalism,” he said.
ARC’s program will assist technicians and businesses in aligning their practices with regulatory requirements and environmental obligations. By sponsoring access to these standards, ARC aims to enhance capability and promote consistent best practice across the climate control sector.
Voucher codes are limited each month and available on a first-come, first-served basis at arcltd.org.au/standards.
