In just 24 hours, the Adelaide Showground will be transformed into the epicentre of the Asia-Pacific mining industry, as thousands of international industry leaders flock to the city for three days of innovation, collaboration, and networking.

Prime Creative Media’s General Manager – Events, Siobhan Rocks, said the event’s inaugural South Australian iteration is a momentous occasion for the state and the mining industry alike.

“We’re so excited to bring this established and respected event to a new frontier for the first time,” Rocks said. “South Australia is fast emerging as the driving force of Australia’s mining industry, and we’re proud to put this event at the forefront of that momentum.”

“Bringing together thousands of mining industry leaders promises inspiring conversations and groundbreaking ideas – it’s shaping up to be a must-attend event.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to build new connections, share knowledge, and explore fresh opportunities.”

Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX), which has been held in Sydney for over 20 years, was secured to South Australia last year by Business Events Adelaide.

The event is expected to attract thousands of delegates from across Australia and globally, with registered attendees hailing from more than 30 countries, and more than 230 exhibitors on the exhibition floor.

Business Events Adelaide Chief Executive Officer, Damien Kitto, said that AIMEX will not only generate a strong financial return but also provide a significant economic tail of enduring benefits to South Australia’s vital energy sector.

“Business Events Adelaide tries as far as possible to secure business events in industry sectors that allow our global expertise to come to the fore,” Mr Kitto said.

“By hosting AIMEX in our state, mining and energy providers will be able to develop lasting connections and relationships. AIMEX is a great fit for Adelaide, and we share Prime Creative Media’s ambition to make AIMEX the world’s largest mining event.”

Leading companies from across the globe will showcase the latest technology and innovations, with key exhibitors including:

  • TriCab
  • Blackwoods
  • MM Mining & Industrial
  • Motion Australia
  • BHP
  • Sulzer Australia
  • Makita
  • Martin Engineering
  • ifm
  • Hitachi Digital Services

Alongside the expansive exhibition floor, AIMEX will include a thought-leading conference program which will take place across two stages throughout the three-day event. The AIMEX conference agenda features a line-up of renowned speakers set to share insights on the future of mining, including:

  • Hon. Tom Koutsantonis MP: Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Minister for Energy and Mining and the Leader of Government Business in the House of Assembly
  • Rashpal Bhatti: Group Procurement Officer of BHP
  • Paul Martyn: Chief Executive of the Department for Energy and Mining

  • Tim Dobson: Managing Director of Magnetite Mines
  • Lee Levkowitz: Head of Energy, Carbon and Technology Analysis at BHP
  • Jonathon Trewartha: Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln Minerals

Over the three days, attendees can look forward to a dynamic program packed with expert-led panel discussions, technology showcases, and unparalleled networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and growth within the sector.

The event will attract a diverse and influential crowd, with industry leaders like Rio Tinto, BHP, Anglo American, Evolution Mining, Iluka Resources, Newmont, Newcrest, Mineral Resources, Westgold Resources, Sandfire Resources, and Bravus already locked in to attend.

Beyond the event itself, visitors are encouraged to explore Adelaide’s vibrant culture and unique attractions.

“For those attending from out of town, take some time to enjoy what Adelaide has to offer – it’s a great city with plenty to discover beyond the event itself,” Rocks said. “And of course, for those who are in town, swing past Adelaide Showground; we’d love for you to come say hi!”
