AxFlow has made its largest-ever investment in Oceania by acquiring a significant share of Queensland fluid solutions provider Dowdens Group.
Represented by two businesses – Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment and Emerald Air Starters and Equipment – Dowdens supplies fluid handling systems and services to a range of industries including water and wastewater, mining, agriculture, and food and beverage.
Dowdens’ strength, in AxFlow’s view, is the company’s workforce, boasting deep application expertise and long-standing customer relationships.
“Combined with its strong capabilities in systems and project delivery, and a well-established service organisation, Dowdens brings a compelling, value-driven offering that aligns closely with AxFlow’s strategy of creating value through technical competence and application knowledge,” AxFlow said in a statement.
Founded in 1973, Dowdens currently employs 180 people across five Queensland locations – Brisbane, Rockhampton, Mackay, Proserpine and Emerald.
“Dowdens is a great business, but what really stands out is the people,” AxFlow Oceania managing director Michael Briggs said.
“They’ve got deep technical know-how, strong customer relationships, and a real ability to get complex jobs done. Our focus is to back that team – give them access to more products, more support and more opportunities – so they can keep growing the business and doing what they already do well.”
Dowdens will continue to operate as Dowdens, while leveraging AxFlow’s network of businesses including a range of Australian peers. This includes Superior Pump Technologies, Matrix Process Solutions and Kelair Pumps Australia.
