Unitywater has awarded a contract for the installation of valves on the L1 sewerage rising main system in Kawana, Queensland.

The scope of works includes installation at two separate locations. At Kawana sewerage treatment plant, an existing temporary pipe section in the operating pipeline will be removed and DN1000 knife gate and non return valves will be placed. At the pit in Barny Moy Road, Britinya, works require cutting into the operating DN600 pipeline within the pit and installing a sluice valve inline and fittings to connect into two existing cross connection valves.

The excavation, design, and connection of the cross connection from the 375mm rising main of SPS-KAW100 to the 600mm main will also be undertaken.

The contract was awarded to Dormway via a limited offer process and is estimated at a value of $169,625.
