Cairns Regional Council has approved a $1.7 million project to replace a 30-year-old water pump station in Palm Cove.
A condition report of the Warren Street Pump Station, located at 38 Seclusion Dr, Palm Cove, confirmed that the existing pumps were nearing the end of their use.
The existing pumps struggle to maintain water supply to fill the Warren Road Reservoir during high demand periods and lack the required capacity to meet additional development.
The new pump station will be renamed Hideaway Close Water Pump Station and is scheduled to be completed by the end of April 2023.
