Techtop Australia is helping Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) of pumps meet specific operational demands with custom electric motors, gearboxes, and drives tailored to rotary lobe, helical rotor, and peristaltic pumps.

For over a decade, Techtop Australia has been a trusted partner to the Australian pump industry, supplying high-performance electric motors, reduction gearboxes, and electronic variable-speed drives. With over 12 years of experience, Techtop has earned a reputation for reliability, technical capability and customer-focused service.

The pump sector is one of the most diverse and demanding in Australia, spanning applications from mining and water treatment to food processing and agriculture. Each pump type comes with its own set of mechanical and operational challenges, which is why demand is growing for motor solutions that are engineered for performance, flexibility and durability. Techtop’s product range supports a variety of pump technologies, including rotary lobe, helical rotor and peristaltic pumps. Each of these requires precise motor matching to ensure efficiency and longevity.

What sets Techtop apart is its ability to deliver more than off-the-shelf products. Techtop can take a standard commercial electric motor or gearbox and modify it to meet the unique requirements of individual pump OEMs. Whether it’s a specially dimensioned output shaft, a customised connecting flange, or a motor with a non-standard duty cycle or protection rating, Techtop has the in-house capability to engineer a solution.

“Our customers don’t need to compromise on performance or footprint,” a Techtop Australia spokesperson said. “If a pump OEM has specific mounting or shaft alignment requirements, we can adapt our product to suit without delays or inflated costs.”

This flexibility is underpinned by Techtop Australia’s design, machining and assembly capabilities, supported by a knowledgeable technical team. The company works closely with OEM partners to ensure form, fit and function align perfectly with the application and industry standards.

A prime example of this collaboration can be seen in Techtop’s work with Doyle Pump & Engineering P/L (Doyle Pumps). Doyle Pumps required a bespoke electric motor for a helical rotor pump used in the quarry industry. These pumps are essential for processing water in sand and gravel operations, where both power and resilience are critical. Techtop developed and delivered a customised motor solution that performed reliably under high-load and high-dust conditions.

Beyond mining and quarries, Techtop has also supported mobile pump systems used in the food and beverage sector. For applications such as waste transfer and washdown, electric motors must meet strict hygiene and portability requirements. Techtop worked with OEM clients to supply robust yet compact drive solutions that meet food safety regulations and can withstand frequent relocation.

By combining technical expertise, responsive support and a commitment to quality, Techtop Australia continues to be a go-to supplier for pump manufacturers and systems integrators nationwide.
