Pump Industry Capability Guide

Product : Dewatering pumps

Dewatering pumps are pumps used to remove groundwater from a construction site, mine shaft or other area where it has collected. Dewatering pumps are used extensively throughout the mining industry to prevent dangerous flooding of mine shafts. They are also used in the construction industries to lower the water table for the excavation required for building foundation placement and to prevent hazardous flooding of tunnelling projects. Dewatering pumps are often hydraulic submersible pumps, diaphragm pumps, wellpoint pumps or trash pumps that are equipped to deal with fluid containing debris or other solids. Dewatering pumps generally need to be capable of operating in tough environments and fulfilling demanding applications, and therefore must be robust, portable and reliable.
