Rotodynamic pumps are one of the two major pump categories that most pumps fit into. A rotodynamic pump is essentially any pump that imparts energy to the pumped fluid using a rotating component, such as an impeller, propeller or rotor. Different types of rotodynamic pumps are used for near-countless applications in an array of different industries. Common types of rotodynamic pump include centrifugal pumps, axial flow pumps, certain submersible pumps, peripheral pumps and magnetic drive pumps.
