Standards Australia has issued a draft standard DR AS ISO ASME 14414 Pump system energy assessment for public comment and ballot by its pump committee.
Essentially the document is an identical adoption of the ISO ASME standard that is already endorsed by Europe, Britain and the United States.
It considers the entire system, from energy inputs to the work performed as the result of these inputs. It is a means to quantify the energy efficiency gains available from a formal assessment of a pumping system. The standard differentiates between and has requirements for three levels of assessments.
The public comment period closes on 18 March 2020 and individuals or organisations who may wish to comment may access the document via Standards Australia.
