Dubbo Regional Council has conducted a six hour Step Test of the Riverbank Bore to explore it’s potential to be a viable water supply.

Dubbo Regional Council is investigating a range of water supplies as a component of an integrated response to the continuing drought conditions.

Accessing groundwater supplies for Dubbo is one component of the immediate and long-term water security strategy.

As part of these investigations, a six hour Step Test of the existing Riverbank Bore was required to ensure optimisation for groundwater extraction.

Other watering systems that will be tested include:

  • John McGrath Fields
  • Bob Dowling Ovals
  • Nita McGrath Courts
  • Katrina Gibbs
  • Hans Clavan Fields

The water required to undertake this test will be utilised on these sporting grounds.
