Harcourt nearing completion

Coliban Water’s Harcourt Rural Modernisation Project is nearing completion, with the Faraday and Barkers Creek pump stations almost complete.

The majority of the backbone and reticulation network pipeline have also been installed.

Coliban Water Project Superintendent Mick Dunne said the project was on track, with works at both pump stations sites also at 95 per cent completion.

“Construction works have been progressing well with the project. Both the backbone and reticulation pipelines are nearly fully installed, with some pressure testing of the pipe already underway in sections.

“The Faraday and Barkers Creek pump stations are at 95 per cent completion, with commissioning and reinstatement works left to complete at both sites.

“Whilst we have encountered rock at various locations along the pipeline routes that has caused some delays, works are continuing and we anticipate these sections to be completed in the coming weeks,” Mr Dunne said.

With construction works drawing to a close, the focus is now on commissioning the operation of the system and ensuring customers have completed their on-property works – so they are ready to take supply from the system for the coming 2016/17 rural season.

“We are working with our customers to ensure all the necessary infrastructure is in place, ready to take supply once the pipeline is operational. To date 145 of the 163 connections points have been installed.

“Reinstatement works for landowners is also continuing,” Mr Dunne said.
