Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is inviting customers and community from the Nyah, Tresco and Woorinen pumped irrigation districts to have their say on the utility’s Pumped Irrigation Districts Future Services Strategy.
This strategy will outline how each district is most likely to progress over the next five to 30 years, and what infrastructure and service requirements are needed to meet customer needs. Draft strategy summaries for each district can now be reviewed.
GMW general manager – strategy and service planning Steven Abbott said the draft summaries highlighted important information for each district.
“They outline proposed future directions for each district, based on technical assessments and what we have heard from customers so far,” he said. “We’re now seeking feedback on the draft strategy summaries.
“Your feedback will help inform the refinement of the final Future Services Strategy.”
GMW will host two drop-in sessions on Thursday May 28, where customers and community members can speak with GMW staff about the draft Future Services Strategy summary for their district. An online session will also take place on Monday May 25 from 5:30pm.
Abbott stressed that these sessions would not be bringing new information to the table.
“They will provide attendees a chance to ask questions and discuss parts of the strategy that matter most to them,” he said.
The Thursday May 28 drop-in sessions will be held at:
- Nyah Community Centre: 10am–12pm (for Nyah and Woorinen)
- Lake Boga Community Centre: 2–4pm (for Tresco)
