The historic steam pumps at Old Psyche Bend in Mildura, VIC will be demonstrated live this Easter weekend, and on two other occasions later in the year.
The steam driven engine and pumps were designed by George Chaffey and provided irrigation water for Mildura from 1891 to 1959.
The pumps will be run live on Sunday 31 March then also on 9 June and 29 September.
The unique design is the only operational one of its kind in the world. The engine and pumps were built in England by Tangye in 1889-90 and installed and commissioned at Mildura in 1891.
The Psyche Pumps are operated and maintained by the Sunraysia Steam Preservation Society Inc.
