A leading industrial flow control solutions distributor strengthens its pump portfolio through an industrial pump acquisition in Canada.
In a move that underscores its aggressive expansion strategy, a major distributor of critical flow control products has acquired a Canadian-based industrial equipment supplier, further solidifying its position in the market.
Strategic acquisition strengthens market position
On March 5, 2025, FloWorks International LLC (“FloWorks”) announced its acquisition of CAC Industrial Equipment Ltd. (“CAC”). Headquartered in Victoria, British Columbia, CAC distributes industrial pumps and parts and provides repair services in mining, aggregate, water, and other industrial sectors.
FloWorks, headquartered in Houston, Texas, is a leading distributor of critical flow control products. It offers tailored technical solutions for maintenance, repair, and operations-focused applications. The company serves industries including chemicals, downstream refining and renewables, high purity and sanitary, and other industrial sectors.
“Laurie and his team have built an exceptional business, and we are thrilled to have CAC join the FloWorks platform,” Scott Jackson, CEO of FloWorks, said. “CAC strengthens FloWorks’ pumps offering and expands FloWorks’ presence in Canada.”
A new chapter for CAC
CAC, established in 2002, has become a leading provider of industrial pumps and parts. The company represents OEM products from industry leaders such as ITT Goulds, Xylem, Grindex, Metso (Sala), Grundfos, PeriFlo, Sandpiper, Denver, and Allis Chalmers. CAC also provides on-site services, including complete system inspections and technical advice, aiming to be the premier provider of pumping equipment and services in its markets.
“Reaching this next step in CAC Industrial Equipment Ltd.’s journey is thanks to the hard work of our team,” Laurie Cavaggion, President of CAC, said. “We’ve achieved a great deal of momentum, and we’re thrilled to continue our mission with FloWorks.”
Continued expansion under private equity leadership
This acquisition marks the fifth under Wynnchurch Capital’s ownership of FloWorks, reinforcing the company’s growth trajectory. Through strategic acquisitions, FloWorks has actively broadened its portfolio and market reach.
In November 2024, FloWorks acquired Applied Controls LLC, a provider of industrial process controls and analyser systems serving various industrial markets.
“Applied Controls has a long track record of technical expertise and customer service,” Jackson said. “We are excited to partner with Tim, Robb and the team at Applied Controls to accelerate the company’s growth.”
Looking ahead
With the integration of CAC into its operations, FloWorks continues to enhance its service offerings and geographic footprint. This strategic move aligns with the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive flow control solutions to a broader customer base. As the industry evolves, stakeholders will be keen to see how FloWorks leverages these acquisitions to meet emerging challenges and opportunities.
