The Chief Executive Officer at Irrigation Australia Limited (IAL) has resigned and accepted a new role as the NSW State Manager of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Duane Findley has tendered his resignation, effective as of January 2016.
Mr Findley said this was a difficult decision to make, but he felt that the new role he had been offered was a career opportunity that he could not pass.
Mr Findley started at IAL in April 2013 and the current board said the company is in a much better position than when Duane commenced, and his part in achieving this should not be under-estimated.
The board said that while Mr Findley’s departure is not what they would have preferred, it will occur near to the end of his original three-year contract.
The IAL Board will now advertise the CEO position, and will be seeking a candidate who can work positively on behalf of IAL membership in building the role of IAL as peak national body representing all sectors of the Australian Irrigation industry.
