The international partner of an Australian pump manufacturer has completed a major business acquisition.
WPIL Group, the international partner of Australian pump manufacturer Sterling Pumps has completed the acquisition of Gruppo Aturia.
WPIL finalized the acquisition of 100 percent of Gruppo Aturia SpA (Italy) and its subsidiaries Rutschi Fluid AG (Switzerland) and Pompes Rutschi SAS (France). Gruppo Aturia has a consolidated turnover of 45 Million Euro with 250 employees operating in five locations.
According to Sterling Pumps Managing Director Anton Merry, “Sterling and WPIL are committed to Australian manufacturing and this acquisition will see an increase in the range of pumps manufactured in Australia. Sterling’s local production has been boosted this month with the addition of new equipment that will allow the production of a wider range of pumps and motors. The test facility has already been increased to 1.4MW to cater for larger projects.”
WPIL Group has a consolidated turnover of $US120 million with facilities in India, South Africa, Australia and UK. WPIL employs approximately 900 employees through the different countries.
The Group is a leader in the production of pumps for power/municipal and industrial application with a strong presence throughout the Asia / Pacific region, Africa and supplies to more than 30 countries. The Chairman Mr. Prakash Agarwal declared that the target of this acquisition will be to develop the synergies, to increase the group revenues through cross sales, to optimize the product range manufactured in different world locations, to accelerate the innovation process integrating the knowledge of Aturia and Rutschi with the WPIL Group companies.
