National Pump and Energy (NPE) has completed an acquisition of Australia’s only equipment plus pump and power contractor, securing the company as the largest pump rental group in the country.

The Vortex Group, a Perth-based company which owns Pumps United, Rhino FSD and Conhur, was acquired by NPE.

The result of this acquisition will see NPE have in excess of 6,000 dewatering pumps and generators in its hire fleet, with a national footprint spanning 12 branches across five states and one territory and in excess of 450 employees.

The acquisition of Vortex allows NPE to continue its support of its customers by:

  • Further enhancing NPE’s pool of leading technical experts
  • Expansion of the NPE national branch footprint
  • The largest ready for rent pump fleet in Australia
  • Continuing its Clean Energy, Clean Water and Clean Waste Vision for the future

National Pump and Energy’s Managing Director, Dave Campbell, said, “We are all very excited by the acquisition of the Vortex Group, which will see NPE become the largest specialty pump rental company in Australia.

“Our newly expanded footprint and capabilities will allow an even higher level of support for our customers with additional branch locations nationwide and the largest fleet of both specialised and standard dewatering hire equipment in the country.”
