Flowrox Automation and Rocsole have joined forces for a joint venture involving the manufacture and sale of scaling sensors.

Flowrox will manufacture and sell the sensors based on the unique innovation of Rocsole, which combines mathematical modelling and industrial measurement. These sensors calculate free volume-index in the process pipe.

The product, which will be marketed under the name Flowrox Scaling Watch, will be launched in mid 2014 but the test marketing will start at the beginning of the year through the Flowrox subsidiaries. Flowrox will have the exclusive right to sell the scaling sensors to end users whereas Rocsole concentrates on control solutions together with the chemical manufacturers.

”Our aim is to be the forerunner in our industry and offer the latest technology to our customers. The cooperation with Rocsole is a great opportunity both for Flowrox and our customers. The use of sensors will, among other things, decrease the unpredictable interruptions in production in the customer’s process and thus intensify the production. This in turn will bring remarkable cost savings and competitive edge to our customers”, says Heikki Hyttinen, CEO of the Flowrox Group.

”The establishing of a joint venture together with a large, industrial manufacturer enables utilization of a global sales and distribution channel for the developed solution and sending out a new, Finnish innovation to the world markets. I am glad that we will get new people around us who are willing to develop and grow and who have evidence of being able to execute the growth”, says Anssi Lehikoinen, CEO of Rocsole.

Flowrox Automation will be headquarted in Kuopio, Finland. Related to the M &A, Capillary will buy a share of Rocsole and will thus become its owner. Capillary is an investment company and owner of Flowrox.

Flowrox specialises in manufacturing high technology industrial valves and pumps for demanding end uses. In addition to the manufacturing, they also offer after-sales services for valves and pumps which are used in process industry. Headquarted in Lappeenranta, Finland, Flowrox Group has subsidiaries in the US, South Africa, Australia, China and Russia. In addition, Flowrox has a global representative sales network. www.flowrox.com

Rocsole develops and markets innovative process control solutions based on 3D-capacitance tomographic imaging and optics, which are especially effective in multiphase flows in pipes and tanks. The solutions are mainly designed for oil, mining, chemical, food and pulp and paper industries. Rocsole, which is established in 2012, is headquarted in Kuopio and employs 12 persons in Finland and the United States. www.rocsole.com
