With operators facing rising electricity costs and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) targets, the need for high-efficiency motors has never been more pressing.

Some 95 per cent of a motor’s lifetime cost is energy usage, so even a few percentage points of efficiency improvement can translate to significant savings. The industry is also seeing greater regulatory emphasis on high-efficiency motors under MEPS (minimum energy performance standards), especially in infrastructure and energy-intensive operations.

This has inspired the launch of the TECO MAXeV4 IE4 Super Premium Efficiency squirrel cage induction motor.

Using standard components, available off-the-shelf in six branches around Australia and New Zealand, and retrofittable without modifying baseplates or coupling systems, the TECO MAXeV4 is set to be a game-changer in industries that can’t afford downtime.

Upgrading to TECO MAXeV4 can deliver up to 7.7 per cent energy savings over an IE2 motor, and up to 4 per cent over an IE3 motor, with a typical payback period under 2–3 years.

Industries such as oil and gas and irrigation are already seeing the benefits of TECO MAXeV4. In oil and gas, where cavitation and vibration can wear motors down, the TECO MAXeV4’s Class H insulation, balanced rotor, 180°C rating and IP66 protection sealing really shines.
