Think Water has appointed a new General Manager, who has previously worked at Grundfos Pumps and Brown Brothers Engineering.

Tony France will commence in his role as Think Water’s new general manager in early August 2016.

Think Water Australia (formerly the Independent Water Group) is a leading network of independently owned water services businesses that design and implement irrigation and water management programs.

Mr France was previously the Queensland State Manager and Market Segment Manager for Grundfos Pumps.

Mr France grew up in New Zealand, commencing his career in the pump and irrigation industry back in 1987, where he was based in Christchurch NZ working for Brown Brothers Engineering as a Sales Engineer.

In 1990 he commenced work with Grundfos Pumps as an area sales manager on New Zealand’s South Island, establishing and developing a new sales office and wholesale distribution network before moving to Queensland and continuing work in the same role.

Mr France became South East Queensland Manager in 1999, and was Queensland State Manager from 2001 until he took on the role of Australian and New Zealand Market Segment Manager for domestic building services, sports turf, agriculture and renewables in 2010.

In 2013 he won the Grundfos “Reach for the Stars” award for national salesperson of the year. Mr France managed this portfolio, the largest of the Grundfos business segments in Australia and New Zealand, for the past five years.

Think Water Chairman Lee Rothwell welcomed Mr France to the company.

“He is very well respected within the industry, is a proven high achiever with excellent management and people skills, and has a sound understanding of Think Water Members’ operations, the people and the business environment within which they operate.

“We are all excited to have him on our team and look forward to working together with him to achieve our future goals,” Mr Rothwell said.
