Work is now complete on $15.2 million worth of upgrade projects to the wastewater system in the City of Kwinana, Western Australia.

The upgrades were spread across Bertram, Parmelia and Orelia and included new wastewater mains and upgrades to pump stations.

WA Water Minister Mia Davies said the upgrades would cater for growth in the City of Kwinana.

“The Water Corporation project included 4.2km of new wastewater main and a storage tank, and an upgrade to the pump station on Bertram Road,” Ms Davies said.

“This followed on from another project the corporation completed in September 2015 to construct 3.2km of wastewater main through the Kwinana town centre and Medina.

“A wastewater pump station on Dalrymple Drive in Leda was also upgraded as part of the project.”

Ms Davies said the corporation worked closely with local residents and businesses to minimise impacts to the community.

“I thank the local community for their patience and co-operation while essential work was carried out.

“This significant investment ensures wastewater will continue to be managed efficiently, safely and sustainably,” Ms Davies said.
