Techtop Australia Pty Ltd releases a new vertical hollow shaft electric motor range.

Techtop Vertical Hollow Shaft Motors are a special type of electric motor designed for vertical applications, particularly in the water and wastewater industries. These motors are known for their robust construction, high efficiency, and reliable performance, making them a perfect choice for demanding applications.

Vertical Hollow Shaft Motors are commonly used in deep well pump applications, where they drive a vertical turbine pump directly. They are designed with a hollow shaft, which allows the pump shaft to pass through the hollow motor shaft, eliminating the need for a separate coupling. This design simplifies the installation process and reduces the risk of alignment issues, leading to longer equipment life and lower maintenance costs.

The Techtop VHS series is available from 15kW to 75kW in 2 poles and 15kW to 300kW in 4 poles and is designed for high axial loads. These motors are standard with a service factor of 1.15 and high starting torque. They are equipped with a non-reverse ratchet, an enlarged oil chamber for improved bearing lubrication, and heaters and thermistors for enhanced performance.

Our specialised insulation system has been designed to withstand a wide range of environmental conditions, thermal shock, and voltage stress. It is composed of all UL-approved insulation materials and copper wire suitable for use with VVVF drives. For maximum winding protection, we use a double VPI treatment with a non-hygroscopic epoxy varnish. Plus, to maintain optimum performance and further protect the winding system in motors used in coastal areas, mining applications, and locations with high humidity or hazardous particles, we apply a tropicalised varnish.

Typical industries utilising vertical hollow shaft motors include:

  • Water & wastewater
  • Agriculture
  • Pulp & Paper
  • Municipalities
  • Well drilling
  • Mining
