Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has been awarded the Engineer, Procurement, Supply, Construction, Commissioning (EPSCC) contract for the FPSO, which is the secondary vessel of two offshore vessels which will be located at the Browse Basin Field WA-285-P which lies 440km north of Broome and 800km south west of Darwin.
The FPSO is permanently moored via Turret which allows the vessel to act like a weather vane while moored. It also acts as rotating connection to the CPF and the subsea equipment. The FPSO function is to act as a offshore production facilities that house both processing equipment and storage for produced hydrocarbons. It has processing equipment or topsides, aboard the vessel’s deck and hydrocarbon storage below in the double hull. After processing, the FPSO stores oil/condensate before offloading periodically to a shuttle tanker which transports the product to a refinery.
