Forge Group subsidiary CTEC has received a Notice of Award for a $105 million contract from WorleyParsons for the development of BHP Billiton’s Yarnmina Power Station, near Newman in WA’s Pilbara region.
The EPC contract involves the delivery of Combine Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station comprising three gas turbines, three heat recovery steam generators and two seam turbines with auxiliary equipment.
The Yarnmina Power station will deliver 190 MW for the expansion of the BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Jimbebar mine. It will replace supply from the existing Newman Power Station.
Project work has begun, with delivery expected during the first half of calendar year 2014.
