The planned housing estate of Gliderport in Mount Isa has taken a significant step forward with the recent commencement of works on pump station 18. As a part of the Mount Isa City Council’s sewerage upgrade, pump station 18 will access the Healy Heights estates alongside the eagerly awaited Gliderport development.
Rob Carr Pty Ltd has been awarded the contract to undertake the pump works, which makes up part of the $27 million sewerage upgrade which began in June. The North West Star has quoted crew member Matthew Carroll as saying that the completion of the pump station was crucial for supporting further development in the city and was expected to be completed in December.
