Work on the 11-million-litre clear water storage tank at Wannon Water’s Hamilton Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is well underway. The inside surface recoating is nearly complete, and work to replace the roof is about to start. While the tank is offline, an adjoining two-million-litre tank is being used as the principal clear water storage for Hamilton, Dunkeld, and Tarrington.

Project Manager, Gerry Van Jaarsveldt, said the project remains on track for completion in late October.

“Weather permitting, we plan to have the large clear water storage tank back in operation soon. But while we still have a smaller capacity tank, we encourage residents to be mindful of their water use and report any leaks or burst pipes immediately.”

Reports can be made to Wannon Water’s hotline on 1300 926 666 at any time of the day or night. Its crews are also on standby to identify, isolate and repair any issues immediately.

This project is part of Wannon Water’s proactive approach to maintaining its assets. It ensures the tank can continue providing reliable, high-quality water for the community for decades.
