In HVAC systems, you need motors that can do the job—efficiently, reliably, and without unnecessary complexity.

The TECO Te3 range of IE3 Low Voltage Cast Iron Motors delivers exactly that: dependable performance, long service life, and smooth integration with pumps, fans and VSDs commonly used across mechanical plantrooms.

Designed for operation in up to 40°C ambient temperatures, fully compliant with MEPS IE3 standards, and engineered for compatibility with Variable Speed Drives, the TECO Te3 is made to perform in the real-world conditions HVAC professionals face every day.

Engineered to Fit HVAC Applications

HVAC installations demand motors that integrate easily, deliver consistent torque, and stand up to long operating hours. The TECO Te3 range is optimised for:

  • Pumps: Centrifugal pumps with variable torque loads
  • Fans: Direct or belt-drive axial and centrifugal fans
  • Air Handling Units & Chillers: Systems requiring high reliability and VSD compatibility
  • Compressor delivering air and/or refrigeration services.

All motors are balanced to ISO 21940 (Grade G2.5) and comply with IEC60034-14 (Grade A vibration limits), ensuring low noise and low vibration—critical in HVAC environments where acoustic performance is a priority.

Core Technical Benefits for HVAC Engineers

  • IE3 Efficiency – Lower Power Bills, Longer Life
Across all frame sizes (80–400), TECO Te3 motors meet or exceed Australian MEPS and IEC 60034-30 efficiency standards. This translates to direct energy savings on every operating hour.
  • Class F Insulation, Class B Temperature Rise
Rated for full load in 40°C ambient, the TECO Te3 thermal design provides a generous thermal reserve—extending winding life, especially under partial load or fluctuating fan speeds.
  • VSD-Ready by Design
TECO Te3 is compatible with most leading Variable Speed Drives without de-rating between 5–50 Hz. For more demanding installations, options like insulated bearings or EDM shaft grounding are available.
  • IP55 Standard, IP56 and IP66 Optional
With neoprene-gasketed terminal boxes and cast iron construction, the TECO Te3 offers protection against dust, moisture, and harsh plantroom conditions. IP56 and IP66 variants are available for exposed or rooftop units.
  • Greased-for-life or Relief Systems (from D180)
Maintenance teams will appreciate. TECO Te3 grease relief system for larger frames, allowing re-greasing during operation. For smaller sizes, sealed-for-life bearings reduce service demands.

Quick to Install. Easy to Specify. Ready to Run.

With motor sizes from 0.55kW to 500kW, multiple mounting configurations (B3, B5, B35, V1, etc.), and standard shaft and terminal positions, the TECO Te3 simplifies the job for all HVAC consultants, OEMs, and contractors alike.

European frame design incorporating the much sort after top mounted terminal box allowing easy installation and easy connection regardless of where the original terminal box location was.

Motors of 3kW and below can be reconfigured for 240V 3-phase delta supply—ideal for HVAC retrofits running off single-phase input VSDs.

TECO Te3: The Smart HVAC Motor Investment

In a sector where performance must meet budget, the TECO TE3 delivers technical reliability, VSD compatibility, and long-term value—without the added cost of features that you don’t need.

Whether you’re upgrading an air handling unit, replacing pump motors, or specifying for a new mechanical plant, TECO Te3 is your fit-for-purpose HVAC motor, backed by national stock and local technical support across Australia and New Zealand.
