Maranoa Regional Council (QLD) has decided to bring forward works to replace and upgrade the inlet pipe work connecting to the sewerage pump station in Major Street, Roma after it failed recently.
The pipe work, which connects the pump station to the town’s sewerage network, was scheduled for an upgrade in the early 2014/15 financial year (after Royalties for the Regions funding was secured for the Roma Sewerage Augmentation project), however the recent pipe failure has seen the project prioritised.
While preparations are made for the upgrade works, a temporary replacement will be operational to continually pump sewerage through to the STP.
