SA Water is proposing to construct a new below ground wastewater pump station in Encounter Bay and is calling for public comment.

The wastewater network in the Encounter Bay area is currently nearing capacity and requires an upgrade to enable future development of the area.

This problem is also consistent across inner metropolitan Adelaide as communities expand through sub‑division and in-fill development, placing increased demand on existing services such as water and wastewater.

The wastewater pump station will provide additional storage to increase capacity, speed up the flow of wastewater through the network and remove the risk of system overflows.

In order to alleviate this problem SA Water is proposing to construct a new below ground wastewater pump station on a portion of Truslove Reserve, Maude Street, Encounter Bay. This new infrastructure will include a bio-filter consisting of three small tanks which eliminates the risk of odour escaping the network. This will also be located on Truslove Reserve, screened by new landscaping.

SA Water is working with the local community to deliver a technical solution that meets the project objectives and enhances Truslove Reserve.
