A $120 million contract has been awarded by Santos GLNG to provide plant services for the operational phase of its Curtis Island LNG facility.

UGL Limited has been awarded the three-year contract which includes options to extend the agreement for a further four years.

Under the scope of the contract, UGL will perform maintenance, shutdown, engineering and project services for Santos GLNG’s LNG facility.

UGL is expected to commence mobilisation of its workforce in the second quarter of the 2015 calendar year.

The project involves ongoing gas field development in the Surat and Bowen Basins, a 420-kilometre gas transmission pipeline, and the construction of an LNG plant on Curtis Island, near Gladstone. Santos GLNG is expected to deliver its first LNG cargo in 2015.

UGL’s Managing Director and CEO, Ross Taylor said: “Securing another major contract in LNG maintenance reflects UGL’s market leading position in this important growth sector in Australia.

“Our success in being awarded the contract by Santos GLNG reflects our ability to align with the client’s vision and their strong health, safety and environmental culture. We look forward to working with Santos GLNG in delivering a flexible and collaborative solution to their asset management needs on Curtis Island.

“This contract, along with the recent announcement of the APLNG maintenance contract further enhances UGL’s strong base of recurring revenue and positions us well for future maintenance opportunities as LNG facilities currently under construction move to their operational phase.”
