The strong social program at the Irrigation Australia International Conference and Exhibition, taking place 13-15 June at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, is again proving a drawcard.

Registrations are still open for both the conference and free exhibition — the southern hemisphere’s largest and highest-profile irrigation event, featuring more than 80 speakers and 165 exhibitors, and covering the entire irrigation value chain.

Irrigation Australia CEO, Bryan Ward, said, “The first networking opportunity is the Welcome Reception on the first night, Tuesday 12 June. This is a great chance for everyone from both the exhibition and conference to come together as a celebration in anticipation of the excitement of beginning our peak industry event.

“This year we’ve added the appropriately named ‘Watering Hole’ bar. This pop-up bar will be on the edge of the exhibition floor on both Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 afternoon, so it’s perfectly placed to be a social hub for exhibitors and conference delegates to wind down in an informal atmosphere, yet still be able to network and even do business. On Wednesday, attendees can pop into the Watering [Hole] before our pinnacle Gala Dinner, while on Thursday we’re having a free-to-attend happy hour from 4-5pm, but will then keep the bar open for people to buy drinks until 6pm.

“Our major event, the Gala Dinner, will be held on Wednesday 13 June. This is always a fantastic affair, and this year is set to be even better with a three course meal and live entertainment from a duo who have featured in some famous musical productions. We will also have our all-important awards ceremony, with the recipient announced of the McLean Iedema Award, the accolade we present biennially to recognise an exceptional individual who has made a noteworthy contribution to advancing our irrigation industry or a sector of it.

“The last event will be our Closing Ceremony on Friday 15 June, starting at 1:30pm. Here we’ll have some final closing remarks on the exhibition floor, and will also hand out awards for Best Stand and Best New Product from exhibitors, plus a Best Poster award from the conference.

“The social program is typically a highly enjoyable part of the whole event. I encourage all to come along and experience the best of what our industry offers.”

Mr Ward urges those who had not yet registered for the conference or free exhibition to do so.

Irrigation Australia International Conference and Exhibition is the largest and highest-profile irrigation event not just in this region of the world, but in the southern hemisphere. It’s a major and unique opportunity to learn about the latest products, solutions and knowledge.”
