Brown Brothers Engineers has announced the growth of its Group with the acquisition of SPX Flow Technology New Zealand Limited (formerly APV New Zealand Ltd). Brown Brothers Engineers Ltd (who is part of the AxFlow Group) will take on ownership and operations of SPX Flow’s current business operations in New Zealand. The parties have also agreed to a long-term supply and partnership arrangement that will provide its New Zealand customers with ongoing access to SPX Flow products which include APV, Bran+Luebbe, Lightnin and Waukesha; parts and technical expertise.

This strategic acquisition enables AxFlow and its New Zealand based subsidiary Brown Brothers Engineers Group portfolio to further increase its footprint and expand operations in the food and beverage sectors in particular. NZ Customers will benefit from the increased coverage and expanded supply chain capability. SPX Flow remains committed to developing and supplying products for the New Zealand market and will be working to support Brown Brothers Engineers as its Distribution Partner in New Zealand.

From 1 December 2020, SPX Flow Technology New Zealand Limited, under its new owners, will be rebranded as Brown Brothers Engineers Flow Technology Limited.

The New Zealand sales and support team for SPX Flow is all transitioning into the newly created Brown Brothers Engineers Flow Technology company and remain otherwise unchanged, and will continue to be available for product and service needs. There are no anticipated interruptions with supply, manufacturing processes or access to parts and services.

Brown Brothers Engineers anticipates that this acquisition will strengthen its presence within the industry and through common contacts and resources, that both companies in New Zealand, Brown Brothers Engineers Ltd and Brown Brothers Engineers Flow Technology Ltd will continue to grow and flourish.

Dominic Hill, VP Business Development from SPX Flow, said, “APV New Zealand has a strong foundation in place with more than 60 years of servicing customers in food and beverage markets.

“We are confident the combination of the SPX Flow portfolio with AxFlow’s existing distribution and service operation [Brown Brothers Engineers] will provide a platform for future growth.”

Managing Director of Brown Brothers Engineers Group, John Inkster, said, “I am very excited for this addition to our Group and the opportunity to see this new acquisition grow and flourish under the Brown Brothers Engineers and AxFlow umbrella”.

Please note there is no change to SPX Flow operations in Australia.
