Unconventional gas explorer Strike Energy has advised that the seven-stage fracture stimulation program of the Jaws-1 well has been successful, making way for pump connection and completion.
This stage of the project has sought to test the commercial quality of the Southern Cooper Basin Gas Project through the deployment of five indirect vertical fractures — the first of their kind to occur in Australia. Strike is currently analysing the microseismic and tiltmeter data to determine the total volume of stimulated coal.
The next stage of the project will involve running electrical submersible pump completion and connection of surface equipment.
The Jaws-1 project is expected to come online early to mid July 2018.
