The Walpole Dairy Farm is a family-owned dairy farm in the heart of Australia’s countryside. Facing a range of challenges typical to the dairy industry, they teamed up with Franklin Electric to become a more sustainable dairy operation.

Challenges that would usually impact a large dairy farm include fluctuating milk yields, high operational costs and labour-intensive milking processes. Other challenges include environmental concerns and cost management.

The team at Walpole Dairy was determined to overcome these obstacles and embrace a more sustainable, efficient future. As such, they embraced a journey of innovation and transformation. Franklin Electric worked with the team at Walpole Dairy to achieve that goal.

Distributor Cobram Pumping and Irrigation installed a pump system designed for the dairy industry. The pump system consists of one 65EV03 triplex Booster set with 15EV05 Jockey (2500l/min), two 30EV04 triplex booster systems with 10EV07 jockey pump (1200l/min), and two 15EV05 Triplex boosters (600l/min). This system was engineered for reliability, efficiency, and performance.

Technology integration into the system saw the installation of state-of-the-art milking equipment. The system included automated milking stations and advanced pump systems. This has streamlined the milking process, optimised efficiency and reducing labour costs.

Walpole Dairy also focused on being a more sustainable and environmentally positive organisation. To this end, it implemented a range of new farming practices, including water recycling systems, renewable energy sources, and eco-friendly packaging solutions. Together, these practices reduced the farm’s environmental footprint while enhancing Walpole Dairy’s reputation for environmental stewardship.

In its embrace of automation and modern technology, Walpole Dairy dramatically improved its operational efficiency. The automated milking stations reduced milking times and labour costs. The advanced pump stations optimised milk extraction, resulting in more consistent milk yields.

It also saw Walpole Dairy’s commitment to sustainability enhanced through a reduced environmental impact. The farm is now positioned as a leader in responsible farming practices. Consumers reacted positively to the eco-friendly initiatives undertaken by Walpole Dairy by increasing sales, brand loyalty and market reputation.
