TasWater Chairman, Dr Stephen Gumley, has announced the appointment of a new Director of the TasWater Board, following the retirement of Peter Lewinsky.
Joanne Pearson will take up the Board position and will also sit on both the Audit and Risk, and Environment and Public Health Committees.
With a background as a qualified accountant and experienced Chief Financial Officer, Joanne Pearson comes to TasWater with decades of experience in the utilities sector, sitting on various boards and executive committees.
Ms Pearson said she is committed to the ongoing success of TasWater and hopes her experience at both an executive and board level will add value to the organisation.
On welcoming Ms Pearson, Dr Gumley said she would bring a great deal of knowledge and experience to the TasWater Board.
“Along with offering the board her experience in public sector and ASX-listed organisations, Ms
Pearson brings significant understanding of governance and risk management, including through her role on the board of Westernport Water in Victoria,” Dr Gumley said.
“Ms Pearson’s skills and experience will be a great asset to TasWater.”
The appointment of Joanne Pearson will take effect from March 2020.
