Tatiara District Council (SA) is in stage two of a three-stage pump station upgrade program.
The program consists of 18 pump station upgrades across the townships of Bordertown, Keith, Mundulla and Wolseley, to meet modern day standards.
The upgrade program includes connecting each pump station to a remotely managed supervisory control and data access system (SCADA).
This system allows council staff to monitor each pump station remotely and respond to incidents much quicker reducing the risk of effluent overflow causing environmental damage or community health issues.
Currently seven pump stations have been upgraded in the region.
The townships are serviced by Council owned and operated community water management systems (CWMS) which are designed to collect, treat and dispose of effluent and wastewater from septic tanks.
