TECO Australia & New Zealand, Billion Watts, and Tun Green Power have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop renewable energy and battery energy storage projects in Australia.
The collaboration includes the Seaspray solar–BESS project in Victoria and a planned Tranche 2 distributed energy portfolio. The partnership combines the strengths of all three companies in renewable energy, energy storage integration, and power infrastructure, while bringing Taiwan’s premium engineering expertise and advanced power solutions to the Australian market.
The Seaspray project, located in Victoria, Australia, comprises a 5.48-megawatt-peak solar farm paired with an 11-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system. The three companies have established a joint venture in Australia to undertake the project as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. TECO Australia & New Zealand holds a 45 per cent stake in the project.
For the upcoming Tranche 2 portfolio (50MW/200MWh), TECO plans to supply critical power infrastructure and essential grid-scale equipment, including high-efficiency transformers, ring main units (RMUs), and switchgear.
Having operated in Australia for more than 40 years, TECO Australia & New Zealand has expanded from motors, power systems, and HVAC solutions into renewable energy and power infrastructure.
President of TECO Australia and New Zealand, Stuart Walker, said the Seaspray and Tranche 2 projects demonstrate TECO Australia’s strategic transformation and its capabilities in power equipment supply, energy engineering integration, and local project execution. He added that TECO will continue working with partners to create a robust synergy that ensures high-performance energy storage and grid stability.
Tun Green Power is responsible for supplying and managing the core energy storage equipment and battery systems in the partnership, while Billion Watts will oversee system integration and project management for the joint project, leveraging its expertise in system integration and deep understanding of Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM) regulations and market mechanisms.
By combining TECO’s international electromechanical engineering capabilities and high-quality power equipment, Tun Green Power’s CATL-based battery technologies, and Billion Watts’ system integration expertise, the three partners have established a strong collaborative platform to deliver reliable and high-performance energy storage and grid solutions.
Together, they aim to become a preferred provider of renewable energy infrastructure solutions across Oceania.
