Seqwater is undertaking planned maintenance work at Tarragindi Reservoir during July and August 2024.

As part of its commitment to ensuring a safe and reliable water supply for South East Queensland, Seqwater is planning two valve replacements along the bulk water supply pipeline at Tarragindi Reservoir.

These works will include replacing two valves either side of the water inlet pipeline to reservoirs in Tarragindi, which supply water to parts of south and east Brisbane. These works will significantly enhance the long-term reliability of the area’s water supply network.

Preparation for the replacement of the first valve has already been completed, with the second valve site being worked on until the end of July. Isolation of the first valve from the water main will take place during the night of Friday 19 July until early on Saturday 20 July. It is anticipated that this first valve replacement will take all day on Saturday, subject to weather and site conditions. The second valve should be isolated from the water main in the morning of Saturday 3 August, with replacement taking place during the night.

During these periods, water users might notice a slight increase in worker traffic accessing the reservoir works area and occasional construction noise in the immediate vicinity, including pipe cutting and reversing signals from machinery.

Seqwater and its contractors will take all possible measures to keep the impact at a minimum level as much as possible. It is possible that water pressure is impacted, but there will be no impact on water supply.
