A new project has been proposed by Water Corporation to cater for increased wastewater flows and improve the disposal of wastewater in the city of Kwinana, WA. The project would involve a series of upgrades to the local wastewater infrastructure to improve the disposal of wastewater in the Orelia area.

The suite of works will be constructed in two phases:

Stage one: construction of three kilometres of pressure main, a below ground storage tank, and upgrade to the existing Bertram Road wastewater pump station, scheduled to commence around January 2015 and expected to take approximately 18 months to complete.

Stage two: construction of new gravity sewer mains in Hennessy Avenue, and from the corner of Christmas Avenue and Dent Street, through to its corner with Gilmore Avenue. These works are scheduled to commence in September 2015 and be complete in mid-2016.

Water Corporation expects the project to be complete by mid-2016.
