A 72 hour water test has recently been completed on a bore near the Narromine Wetlands in New South Wales.

The water test was required to establish available water yield, chemical characteristics, biological status and draw down capability of the bore.

Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager, Jane Redden, said the test involved pumping a large volume of water over 72 hours, but that, unfortunately, the water couldn’t be captured as any resistance placed on the pumping equipment would have corrupted results.

Water testing is mandatory as part of the bore construction and to ensure the bore is able to supply additional water for Narromine.
