Do you know a standout mining operation that deserves national recognition? The search for the next Mine of the Year is on – and it could be as easy as submitting a nomination in one of this year’s Australian Mining Prospect Awards categories.

As the only national awards program dedicated to recognising excellence across the breadth of the mining industry, the Prospect Awards shine a spotlight on those setting the benchmark for modern, responsible mining.

Relocating to South Australia and coinciding with Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX), this year’s awards will take place at the iconic Adelaide Oval, for a glittering celebration of the individuals, organisations and initiatives spearheading progress across the sector.

The Prospect Awards will feature an expanded program, with 12 award categories up for grabs.

With hundreds of active mining operations across Australia, being named Mine of the Year is no small feat. It’s a distinction earned by only the most exceptional; those who lead not just locally, but across one of the world’s largest and most advanced mining sectors.

Awarded to the top-performing mine across the country, Mine of the Year is the most prestigious honour at the Prospect Awards, recognising leadership, innovation, sustainability, and impact.

The best part? Any mine nominated in another award category will automatically be considered for this top accolade.

From environmental management and sustainability to innovative mining solutions and Indigenous and community engagement, any qualifying winner will automatically enter the running for the top honour.

Major sponsors, including Sandvik, Bonfiglioli, ifm, and SEW-EURODRIVE, are returning in 2025 to celebrate and recognise the deserving nominees and winners who are making a difference in the industry.

“Mine of the Year is about recognising those who are not just doing their job but redefining what’s possible in Australia’s mining industry,” General Manager of Events and Prime Creative Media, Siobhan Rocks, said.

“If there’s a mine that stands out to you, nominate it. You might be the reason they receive national recognition.”

Nominations close on 29 July. Don’t miss the chance to shine a spotlight on the teams, projects, and operations driving Australia’s mining sector forward.
