Murray Irrigation has wrapped up its 2024 Winter Works program, completing approximately $8 million in improvement and maintenance works across its water delivery network before the irrigation season.
Over the past three months, staff and contractors have clocked thousands of hours to deliver this year’s program.
The long list of works has included channel bank refurbishments, erosion control, remedial works on regulators and offtakes, bridge and road crossing upgrades, channel desilting, and a host of maintenance jobs.
Murray Irrigation has also carried out engineering inspections on hundreds of irrigation assets located across the water delivery network during this period.
Murray Irrigation CEO, Ron McCalman, said that seeing this year’s extensive program completed safely, on time, and on budget is pleasing.
“We thank all our hardworking staff and contractors for another great Winter Works effort this year,” Mr McCalman said.
“We also thank our customers for their support and cooperation while we completed this year’s critical works program.”
Murray Irrigation’s annual Winter Works program is vital to ensuring its irrigation network, which is made up of more than $1 billion worth of assets, continues to deliver water reliably and efficiently for generations to come.
