The Holts Hill Fluoride Dosing Facility in Brisbane will remain offline while upgrades are completed at the East Bank Water Treatment Plant in preparation of a major filter upgrade to the plant planned for 2019.
The Holts Hill Fluoride Dosing Facility provides fluoridation for treated water produced at the Mt Crosby East Bank Water Treatment Plant and West Bank Water Treatment Plant, which supply the majority of treated drinking water to Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan.
The facility is currently being upgraded, however commissioning of the new facility requires both Mt Crosby plants to be operational.
The treatment plant works are expected to be completed by mid-June 2018 with Holts Hill fluoride commissioning to follow.
The Holts Hill fluoride dosing facility is expected to be back operating by July 2018. This is the first major upgrade of a fluoride dosing facility since fluoridation was introduced into South East Queensland in 2009.
