Pump Industry Australia is currently seeking feedback from pump suppliers and end users regarding ISO 16330:2003 – Reciprocating positive displacement pumps and pump units. This international standard provides guidelines for the technical requirements, testing, and performance of reciprocating positive displacement (PD) pumps and their associated pump units. It plays a significant role in ensuring consistency, reliability, and safety in the design and operation of these pumps across various applications.

We are reaching out to industry professionals to gather insights into how this standard is being applied within Australian contexts. Specifically, we’d like to know: Are you familiar with ISO 16330:2003? Is it commonly specified in your sector for local applications involving PD pumps? If your organisation does make use of this standard, do you consider it up to date and relevant, or would you support a review to ensure it reflects the latest technological developments and industry practices?

Your feedback will help determine whether ISO 16330:2003 should be confirmed, amended, or withdrawn. This is an important opportunity to help shape international standards and ensure they align with the current needs of Australian industry. We particularly encourage those involved in the specification, supply, operation, or maintenance of PD pumps to contribute.

Please send your comments to secretary@pumps.org.au. Submissions received before 7 May 2025 will be compiled by Pump Industry Australia and forwarded to Standards Australia for consideration in the ISO review process. We appreciate your participation and look forward to your input.
