Water Corporation has completed upgrades to the Cable Beach Pump station in Broome.
The pump station supplies supplies drinking water to more than 10,000 residents and businesses in Broome.
Water Corporation North West Regional Manager, Rino Trolio, said the previous pump station was meeting the current peak demands, but was due for an upgrade.
“The new pump station will allow for the population growth in the area for the next 15 to 20 years,” Mr Trolio said.
“This $6.2 million project included six new water pumps, a new emergency generator system, two new switch rooms and a new surge vessel to ensure an even and reliable supply of water to the area.
Mr Trolio said construction on the project started in June 2016 and was completed at the end of July 2017.
