Cairns Regional Council has reviewed its ten-year capital works program to identify wastewater projects that could be packaged together to improve efficiencies and deliver better value, and has endorsed more than $14 million in works for the upgrade of its wastewater network.
This comes in response to inflationary pressures and subsequent rising costs the Council has been facing.
Council has awarded Koppen Developments with a $11.3 million project contract as part of upgrades to sewage pumping stations in Portsmith, Yorkeys Knob, Clifton Beach, Holloways Beach, Redlynch and Edge Hill, and a rising main at Holloways Beach.
The works will ensure the continued and reliable provision of sewerage services to the community and improve onsite safety and accessibility.
