A number of pump contracts have been awarded as part of the Ichthys Central Processing Facility, including fire pumps, diaphragm pumps and centrifugal pumps – all to overseas companies.
The firewater pump contract was awarded to Frank Mohn Flatoy AS of Norway. The contract includes the design, manufacture, test and supply 4 off firewater pump packages and provide all necessary technical data for integration of these packages into the offshore floating gas processing facility.
The diaphram pump contract was awarded to Dongil ENT of South Korea and includes for the design, manufacture, quality control, factory tests, supply and shipment of Diaphragm Pump.
The centrifugal pump contract was awarded to Finder Pompe S.p.A of Italy. They will carry out thermal/ mechanical design, manufacture, test and supply 54 off Centrifugal Pumps for integration into the offshore floating gas facility.
Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) have been awarded the Engineer, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract for the Central Processing Facility (CPF) for the Ichthys LNG Project. The CPF is the primary vessel of two offshore vessels which will be located at the Browse Basin Field WA-285-P which lies 440km north of Broome and 800 Km southwest of Darwin.
The CPF is permanently moored, column-stabilized production unit and has similar form to a semi-submersible rig. The unit will consists of two main level decks of space-frame configuration supporting hydrocarbon processing and utilities. These system will provide the primary processing of the offshore gas to remove water and raw liquids, including condensate. The gas will be then exported to the onshore processing facilities at Blaydin Point Darwin. The water, raw liquids and condensate with be transferred to the Floating, Processing, Storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) for further processing and storage.
